We had a snow day today! This is what our deck looked like this morning.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation advised no unnecessary travel; most scheduled activities in the area were postponed or canceled. I was happy to stay home and off the roads; no arguments from me.
So, what did we do on our snow day?
The kids and I made “Names of Jesus” Christmas ornaments.
We put up our artificial Christmas tree. It has happened that whenever we had time to go get a real tree, it was either bitterly cold or the roads were bad. On days when conditions were more friendly, we didn’t have time. I didn’t want to wait anymore, so I dug out the artificial tree.
I refilled our bird feeder. The birds were very happy.
My husband cleared the driveway with the snowblower, while I shoveled the front walkway and steps. My little man, age five, helped me with some shoveling.
We made some new sled paths, which it turns out is quite challenging when the snow is so deep.
We played some Wii.
We watched Bridge to Terabithia. I won’t spoil the movie for anyone who hasn’t seen it, but I will say it was not what I expected.
Sometimes it’s nice to have an unexpected day at home.
Did you get snow where you live? How would you spend a snow day?
